B1 - Writing an argumentative text.
Dear Students,
In today's class we are going to do the writing exercise: An Article. Please go to p 195 of your books.
This article about Wikipedia states the advantages and disadvantages of it.
In exercise b you have to correct the marked mistakes. Here's the key:

Now look at the box in ex d. In it you'll find useful vocabulary and phrases for this kind of writing.
When composing a for/against article, it's usually a good idea to plan the content ahead. For example, you could draft a few advantages and disadvantages, i.e. pros and cons about the topic you are going to broach. Try to balance the positive and negative, if possible. Distributing the information into paragraphs will make it easier to read and your point will be made more effectively.
The first paragraph should contain an introduction.
Second and third, the advantages and disadvantages.
And the final one is perfect for the conclusion, recap, or recommendation.

CONCURSO DE MICRORRELATOS EOI SAN BLAS
CONCURSO DE MICRORRELATOS EN INGLÉS. Navidad 16 EOI San Blas
1. Podrán participar todos los alumnos matriculados en nuestra EOI en enseñanza presencial y en la modalidad a distancia “That’s English!”.
2. Habrá tres categorías: Nivel Intermedio, Nivel Avanzado y C.
3. El tema de los relatos es la Navidad en cualquiera de sus aspectos.
4. Los relatos estarán escritos en lengua inglesa y deben ser originales e inéditos. Tendrán una extensión de cincuenta palabras, con el título incluido, como máximo. Las contracciones cuentan como una palabra.
5. El jurado estará formado por profesores del departamento de Inglés y los alumnos que lo deseen, los cuales no podrán participar en el concurso.
6. La fecha límite para entregar los textos en Conserjería será el 13 de diciembre, en DIN-A4, con el nombre y nivel del autor escrito en el encabezamiento. Los alumnos de la modalidad a distancia escribirán “That’s English!” junto a su nombre y nivel.
7. El microrrelato ganador de cada categoría obtendrá un premio.
8. Los tres
relatos ganadores serán leídos
durante los festejos navideños del día 22 de diciembre, en horario vespertino.
Si el ganador pertenece al turno de mañana, se le firmará un certificado de
asistencia si lo necesita.
9. Los tres relatos ganadores más los finalistas de cada categoría serán
publicados en la revista virtual Mosaic,
de la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de San Blas, cuyo enlace se encuentra en la
página web http://www.educa2.madrid.org/web/centro.eoi.sanblas.madrid. La
participación en este concurso conlleva el consentimiento implícito para dicha
publicación.
